Is the Super Bonus taxable?
No. The Super Bonus announced in Budget 2027 is tax-free, so it is not added to your taxable income and no SSC is deducted.
When will the Super Bonus be paid?
The Government said it will pay the Super Bonus in the first three months of 2027. You do not need to apply; it is based on 2025 income data the Government already holds.
Who qualifies for the Super Bonus?
Full-time and part-time employees, self-employed people and pensioners who continue to work, based on income earned in 2025. Whether non-EU workers without long-term residence qualify has not been confirmed yet.
Do both partners get a Super Bonus?
Yes, if both worked in 2025. The bonus is worked out for each person from their own 2025 income, so a couple where one partner earned €30,000 and the other €9,500 would receive €1,000 plus €800, a total of €1,800.
What if I earned less than €2,000 in 2025?
The Budget 2027 bands start at €2,000 of 2025 income, which gets €500. No amount has been announced for income below €2,000.
Do non-EU workers get the Super Bonus?
This has not been confirmed. Some reports say third-country nationals without long-term residence are excluded. Check the official guidance once the Government publishes the eligibility rules early in 2027.
